‘Friend’

The stars drew us together

All those years ago,

A time least expected

No resistance to pause the flow.

A discovery of familiar,

A discovery of the same;

All the stars had to do

Was create the initial flame.

It was never planned for us to be

Together, one, or whole;

More so parts of each other,

Forever connected, a north star hold.

 Energy burns bright between us

A firework for the soul,

Sparks light up the mental skies,

A joy to behold.

And as our life on earth continues

on until its end,

I ask the stars for a few more moments

for both of us my friend.
